This project consists of a new, three-story, 245,000-square-foot high school to support the growing population in Mount Pleasant, SC. The state of the art facility accommodates 1,500 students in grades 9-12, and has a gym, auxiliary gym, auditorium, cafeteria, classrooms, maker space, and science and specialty lab spaces. Track and field and practice fields are also located on site, with additional shared athletic facilities off site. The facility also houses a ninth-grade academy. RMF provided MEP / FP engineering. The building includes a smoke evac system as well as nearly 900 tons of chilled water capacity.
The offsite new softball press box is located at J.B. Edwards Elementary School. It serves both the practice and game field for the softball team. It includes a 1,200-square-foot press box with concessions and restrooms on the first floor. Bleacher seating for 200 fans is also included as well as two new dugouts and batting cages.
