Georgia Gwinnett College has undergone a phase of rapid growth over the past 20 years. Since then, the campus has grown to have 15 buildings and accommodate a student body of 10,000. However, the college has never had an assembly building, so the new Georgia Gwinnett Gateway Center will serve as a 3,000-seat convocation center for the campus. The Gateway Center will also include campus recreation space, food service, and areas for students to sit and study or socialize.
