Lilly Science and Technology Center RT2

The Lilly Science and Technology Center is a new classroom building for Wake Tech Community College constructed in Morrisville, North Carolina as part of the new WTCC RTP campus. The three-story, 66,000 SF facility provides smart classrooms and state-of-the-art science labs and an aseptic clean room to support Wake Tech's Biotechnology Associate in Applied Science as well as the non-degree BioWork certificate program. The building is also the location of Wake Tech's Business Analytics degree program for specialization in analytic theory, data mining, and predictive modeling.

RMF provided full mechanical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services using 2018 Revit MEP. The mechanical design includes all heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning systems inside the building. RMF provided the design for the expansion of the campus regional plant, housed within RT1, with 400 tons of chilled water and 3,000 MBH of heating hot water. The design for all domestic water, storm, natural gas, waste and vent piping systems was also included in RMF's scope of work. Additionally, RMF provided performance-based design for fire protection with code review, design criteria, general pipe routing and specifications per NFPA for all fire protection piping within the building.
