Decarbonization Roadmap

Brown University engaged RMF to develop a Decarbonization Roadmap to achieve their goal of net-zero by 2040. RMF is coordinating this highly collaborative process which incorporates multiple engineering firms and a broad group of campus stakeholders. The Decarbonization Roadmap will outline a plan to transition Brown’s existing high temperature hot water distribution system to a lower temperature that can be served by commercially available heat pump technology. Brown concurrently engaged RMF to complete an electrical master plan that will identify electrical utility distribution upgrades required to support future campus growth and the transition to an electrified heating system.
