Combined Vehicle Support Maintenance Shop Facility

The State of Delaware and the Delaware Army National Guard (DEARNG) commissioned a new Combined Support Maintenance Shop (CSMS) facility. This facility serves as a vehicle service and repair facility and includes a welding bay, a paint bay, seven other general-purpose bays, a training room, physical fitness and locker rooms and administrative and support spaces.

The expertise of RMF in the areas of radiant heating, industrial ventilation, anti-terrorism force protection (ATFP), sustainable design, specialized systems, such as the dynamometer, water tank, and paint booths assisted the design-build team in creating a coordinated, constructible design that met the owner’s requirements and the sustainability goals of the Federal Government Energy Policy Act of 2005 with a 30% energy savings. The new facility achieved LEED Silver Certification.
