Self Regional Healthcare

Women's Center Renovation and ACC Addition

Self Regional Healthcare is a 358-bed short-term acute care hospital originally constructed in 1951. The Women’s Center and Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) were suffering from a lack of available beds, inefficient layout and poor lighting. RMF provided MEP/FP engineering services for a new 20,000 SF addition to the ACC and renovations to approximately 10,000 SF of space in the Women’s Center to increase clinical support space and staff areas and improve patient access. A dedicated elevator takes expecting parents to the labor and delivery areas on the second floor, and more patient rooms are now available for outpatient surgery and recovery.

Better lighting was installed throughout the new and renovated spaces, and a more visible entrance makes patient access easier. A new, dedicated 11,000 CFM hospital grade, semi-custom, rooftop AHU which allows more granular zoning capability for occupant comfort and patient recovery and improved maintenance access with the addition of a conditioned service corridor attached to the unit. In addition to connecting to existing building utilities, fan arrays lessened energy usage and improved reliability on the return and supply fans.
