AdventHealth is expanding access to high-quality healthcare across rural Western North Carolina with the development of a new healthcare campus in Weaverville, featuring a 270,000-square-foot community hospital and a 70,000-square-foot medical office building (MOB). As part of AdventHealth’s commitment to caring for the whole person, body, mind, and spirit, the campus will serve as a vital healthcare hub for Buncombe County and surrounding communities.
The hospital will initially open with 67 inpatient beds and provide a full range of services, including emergency care, medical-surgical inpatient units, intensive care, labor and delivery, advanced imaging, laboratory, pharmacy, therapy, dietary, and support services. Designed to accommodate future growth, the facility will support expansion to as many as 222 beds through planned capacity enhancements, including a future bed tower and expanded diagnostic and clinical services. The campus will also serve as a tertiary and trauma response center for the region.
RMF Engineering is providing full mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design services for the project. Inspired by the natural beauty of the Appalachian Mountains, the facility’s design creates a welcoming, healing environment for patients, families, and caregivers. The medical office building is scheduled for completion in August 2027, with the hospital anticipated to open in November 2028.
