RMF Named a 2026 SC Biz Best Place to Work
RMF Engineering, a leader in full-service MEP engineering, is proud to be named on the SC Biz 2026 Best Places to Work in South Carolina, a research-driven awards program recognizing outstanding employers creating exceptional workplace experiences across South Carolina. The firm was honored in the Large Companies category (250 employees or more), with a total of 95 companies recognized across three size-based categories.
"We take pride in the growth of our South Carolina division in both scale and capability, especially in recent years," says Beth Crutchfield, PE, LEED AP, Division Manager at RMF. "Our strength is in our team, and their ability to deliver technical excellence and unparalleled service is what allows us to partner with some of the most impactful entities in the Carolinas."
The talent and tenure driving RMF's business, both in the Carolinas and across all of its offices, is a direct reflection of the firm's continued investment back into its team. RMF's culture is rooted in a commitment to mutual respect and reciprocal accountability, fostering an environment where employees feel valued for their impact, championed through their growth, and motivated to support the long-term outlook of the firm.
The Best Places to Work program, put on in partnership with BridgeTower Media and Best Companies Group, evaluates participating companies through a two-part assessment process including an employer questionnaire and confidential employee engagement survey measuring workplace culture, benefits, leadership, and employee satisfaction. RMF's recognition as a Best Place to Work in South Carolina affirms that the personal and professional resources built into its employee experience — from continuing education to retirement planning — are foundational to the durability and success of the team, as well as the organization as a whole.
The achievement comes amid the relocation of RMF’s Charleston team to a new office space at 115 Central Island Street, Suite 400, marking an exciting milestone after 25 years of growth in the region. The South Carolina Division has collaborated with a variety of project partners across sectors, including recent projects with Clemson University, the University of South Carolina, Self Regional Healthcare, The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and the Charleston County Aviation Authority (CCAA). The new, larger Charleston office further demonstrates the longevity and reputation of its team, and the long-standing client relationships they've built in turn.
"The collaboration in our office, between both our internal team and external partners, differentiates RMF as a leader in the market regionally and beyond," says Don Zimmerman, PE, CEM, Division Manager at RMF. "We're confident that their leadership and skill will continue to enhance our division well into the future." Backed by its portfolio, the firm continues to strengthen long-term partnerships with the institutions and communities it serves while building the team and workplace culture that make that growth possible.
