RMF Expands Healthcare Expertise

Baltimore, Md. – RMF Engineering, a leading full-service consulting engineering firm, announced today the addition of Richard Girard, PE, LEED AP and Jacek Grabowski, PE, LEED AP to the company’s Baltimore headquarters.

As Division Manager and Healthcare Practice Leader, Girard will be responsible for leading and supporting the development of highly skilled MEP engineers, as well as collaborating with the other RMF offices to leverage individual talents to strengthen the firm as a whole.

Girard comes to RMF with more than 22 years of experience in consulting engineering, providing comprehensive mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and energy systems engineering design services for institutional, commercial, and governmental clients. Since becoming a project manager in 2007, his focus has been on managing the design of highly technical projects predominantly in the healthcare sector.

“I am passionate about engineering and truly enjoy solving problems and mentoring others.  I am excited to continue to build on my extensive healthcare experience here at RMF.  My immediate goal is to identify all the capabilities of my team of accomplished engineers and designers and determine how my experience and knowledge can enhance our overall capabilities,” Girard stated.

Girard earned a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Engineering with a mechanical emphasis from The Penn State University. He is a Professional Engineer, LEED Accredited Professional, Healthcare Facility Design Professional (HFDP), and an active member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) and ASHRAE.

To further enhance the firm’s standing as a leader in the healthcare sector, RMF also welcomes Jacek Grabowski. Girard and Grabowski have spent their entire professional career as a team and, together, they will lead the firm’s healthcare business in Maryland and surrounding states.

“As I begin my new journey at RMF, I look forward to the opportunity of learning and benefiting from the firm’s decades of expertise in the healthcare field, sharing the best that I do, and working together every step of the way to build, and lead, multi-disciplinary teams that deliver the very best hospitals and health sciences facilities,” Grabowski shared.

Grabowski is an electrical engineer with over 22 years of healthcare expertise, working directly with clients and contractors to solve complex electrical problems. He is adept at effectively training and leading comprehensive teams, master planning, assessing facilities to replace their aging infrastructure, and coordinating site utilities. Grabowski graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a power engineering focus. He is a Professional Engineer, LEED Accredited Professional, and is active with IEEE for which he has taught classes since 2008.

“The depth of technical expertise, client service, quality design, and leadership abilities that Rich and Jacek bring to RMF is remarkable and we are excited to see what the future holds for our firm, the clients we serve, and the healthcare industry. Their passion and intimate understanding of healthcare facilities will further enrich our firm’s ability to master all aspects of healthcare engineering and design. We are thrilled to have them on our team as we grow in this market, said Rick Borkowicz, PE, Vice-President.
