RMF’s Chase Davis Shares Successes of Duke Health’s New Generator Hub with Facility Executive Magazine to Ensure the Power Never Goes Offline
Duke Health is a renowned healthcare institution situated in the busy corridor of downtown Durham, North Carolina.
As a leading medical provider, growth is inevitable to account for the fast-moving, innovative pace of the industry and commitment to top-rated patient care. In an article for Facility Executive Magazine titled “Ready For Anything: Duke Health Powers Up New Generator Hub,” RMF Raleigh infrastructure project manager, Chase Davis, provides a look into Duke Health’s decision to proactively address the aging infrastructure across the campus and need to establish a long-term plan and solution to address its growing campus demands, and resulting capacity requirements.
RMF Engineering was a natural fit for this ambitious undertaking given the firm’s proximity, relationship with Duke Health, expertise in central utility plants and infrastructure, and work of similar nature and intricacies. The team collaborated with BSA LifeStructures, Robin & Morton, Star Electric and Thornburn to successfully overcome many challenges such as location, aesthetics, acoustics in designing and developing the 7,000 SF critical building that would act as a Generator Hub for the broader healthcare campus.
