Jose Torres joined RMF in 2001 in the Raleigh, North Carolina office. His career has given him a wide range of engineering experience in designing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection for many types of facilities including college campuses, airports, and private research facility clients. Starting as a project designer right out of college, Jose has grown through the ranks of the firm into key leadership roles.
Over the years, Jose gravitated towards providing consulting for the healthcare industry, and has developed a passion for designing state of the art facilities positioned to deliver the best patient experience and outcomes. Today he is a recognized expert in MEP systems for healthcare facilities, and has successfully led design teams for several significant, award-winning projects in the healthcare market. With the goal of knowledge sharing, he has authored several articles and presented at numerous healthcare related conferences on best practices in MEP design.
Currently, Jose is one of RMF’s partners and leads the Raleigh team’s buildings focused practice, a team that includes about 30 professionals serving primarily healthcare facilities throughout the southeast. He is actively involved in every stage of his team’s projects and takes pride in mentoring RMF’s young engineers and watching them grow and cultivate their skills and confidence.
Raised in the Carolinas, Jose earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University and a Master of Business Administration from Wake Forest University. With a passion for technical excellence in design, he focuses on continually growing his team to provide smarter consulting, and solutions to the difficult challenges his clients must overcome.
